What to do when furnace goes out in winter? The first thing to do is to confirm your filter is clear and replace it if necessary.
Next replace your thermostat batteries even if the display is ON and visible. Some thermostats have enough power for the display but not to switch to heat cycle.
Next confirm the furnace wall switch is ON and not accidently turned off like a light switch.
Lastly, confirm outside that your furnace vents are free of obstructions such as snow or weeds.
